DVHSTool also supports full screen (and windowed) software only HDTV playback from files or directly from D-VHS tape. Software playback requires HDTV capable MPEG-2 Decoders with hardware acceleration (WinDVD, Sonic, PowerDVD, Elecard and Ravisent encoders are currently supported).
DVHSTool requires Windows XP (Service Pack 1 preferred), a D-VHS VCR and a Firewire card to perform tape related operations.
Before you tape related functions in DVHSTool, you must install the D-VHS Windows XP driver. Instructions for installing the driver are located here:
